The Wimberly House Ministries has put down another successful year in the books following the Mardi Gras-themed 2018 Taste of Burke County fundraiser, and one local industry showed its support by donating thousands of dollars to make sure the ministry is able to continue its services to the community.

Just a few days shy of the annual gala, which was held earlier this month, employees of Purification Cellutions presented a check totaling $22,500 to the Wimberly House Ministries to help in the organization’s continued efforts to provide afterschool and summer care to local children, services for Burke County residents seeking alcohol and narcotic rehabilitation, assistance for victims of rape and sexual assault and family and individual counseling

Tat Thompson, who serves as chairman of the Wimberly House board of directors, expressed the ministry’s appreciation for the generous gift. “We’ve had a long history of relationships with Purification Cellutions’ employees, offering service to our organization and joining us in helping families in need,” he said. “Great companies don’t just happen. It starts at the top, with a genuine commitment to define, establish and nurture a corporate culture of caring. We are thankful for Purification Cellutions’ investment in Wimberly House Ministries.”

Nancy Minyard, executive director of Wimberly House Ministries, added, “We feel very honored to have been chosen by a great group of employees who know the meaning of teamwork. They are such an asset to our community.”

She went on to say that the organization is in the final planning stages of a respite care program that will provide relief for families who have taken on the task to care for loved ones at home. The donation from Purification Cellutions will be utilized not only to upgrade current programs but to help establish new ones. Minyard said 100 percent of all services provided are funded through the generosity of private grants, corporations and businesses in and around the community.
