The Development Authority of Burke County (DABC) recently hosted statewide economic development partners from the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Power and Electric Cities of Georgia to showcase tourism, economic development and quality of life opportunities in Burke County.
The 2018 Community Showcase included tours of existing industrial buildings and sites, a live duck dog demonstration by Major League Retrievers, a tour of Plant Vogtle (all units) and concluded with a visit to Di-Lane Plantation to witness Burke County’s famous field trials.
“This showcase is part of the DABC’s external marketing campaign, designed to familiarize statewide partners with what Burke County has to offer companies looking to expand or relocate to Georgia,” Executive director Jessica Hood said.
DABC board member Suzanne Sharkey added that “seeing first-hand what makes Burke County a special place to live and do business is what keeps our community front of mind when these statewide partners are working with companies considering a location in Georgia. These events are also a great opportunity for us to show our appreciation for the work they do in promoting Burke County to the world.”
